Build a community where people don’t have to think alike to work together.

About Me.

Growing up in rural Minnesota, I vividly recall the warmth of summer evenings of childhood spent popping wheelies on my John Deere bike and gathering as a teen around bonfires in farm fields with friends while sometimes getting to know local law enforcement. Those seemingly simple moments instilled in me a profound sense of resilience—an understanding that life's challenges are met with determination and community support. These lessons were foundational, shaping my identity and guiding my path forward.

As a clinical social worker, I have dedicated my career to assisting my fellow rural Minnesotans through some of their most difficult times.  I provide mental health care, am experienced in developing robust workplace-safety policies, and educate communities on how to come together in times of crisis. Each interaction reinforces my commitment to strengthening the fabric of our neighborhood.

At home, my husband and I navigate the complexities of a bipartisan household and embrace the joys of a blended family of 6 daughters and 9 grandchildren (and counting?). Despite our differing views, we prioritize listening and showing up for one another, driven by our shared passion for the future of rural Minnesota.

I stand among the builders, growers, fixers, and do-it-yourselfers of District 5B, embodying the same grit, creativity, and independence that characterize our remarkable region.

Issues

Economy and Fiscal Responsibility: Reduce cost of annual licensing tabs; property taxes are out of control in rural Minnesota and need to be addressed; support efforts to create good paying jobs in MN 5B

Rural Healthcare: Quality healthcare, mental health care, and emergency services need to be accessible, affordable, and serve the whole community. Along with affordable healthcare, ongoing efforts to secure funding for broadband for rural households to access Telehealth care options.

Public Education: I support keeping public school funding in our public school system.

Environment and Farming: Local farmers need to be at the center of creating policies that affect their ability to thrive (and feed the rest of us). I will be looking to local farmers to provide direction for the support they need.
